Australian OneFortyOne exploring investment project

Australian OneFortyOne Plantations is currently exploring whether to start making particleboard in a feasibility study. The company had first floated plans of this kind at the end of September 2016. At that time, it had envisaged a greenfield investment of AUD150m in building a particleboard mill in Tarpeena, South Australia. The feasibility study should be completed by mid-2017.

However, OFO revealed towards the end of August that a decision about continuing the project was not to be expected before the start of 2018. At the same time, it unveiled plans to acquire a sawmill in nearby Mount Gambier, South Australia from Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts Australia (CHH).
