Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s results impaired by higher costs

10.08.2017 −

The continuing growth in pulp and titanium dioxide costs had considerable consequences for the financial results of the “Decor” division of Ahlstrom-Munksjö in the second quarter. According to CEO Jan Åström, although the volume of decor paper sales surpassed the 50,000 t mark in a single quarter for the first time, the increase in volume was counteracted by slightly lower average prices again. As in the preceding quarters, this reduction in prices was mainly attributable to changes in the product mix. Net sales revenue was slightly higher than a year earlier at €98.2m. Comparable EBITDA more than halved, however, to €8.1m, reducing the margin to 8.2%.
