Broadview Holding’s growth due to acquisitions alone

Broadview Holding, belonging to the “Unquoted subsidiaries” division of the Hal Holding and predominantly active in the laminates business, raised its sales revenue by 14 % its business year 2020 to €1.107bn. Adjusted for acquisitions and exchange-rate effects, however, sales revenue was 12.5 % down against a year earlier. The main reason given are the corona-driven losses in the second quarter. The Broadview holdings Trespa International, Arpa Industriale, and Westag & Getalit registered an upswing in the second half-year whereas trading remained difficult for Formica, which concentrates more heavily on large-scale project business. Broadview Holding’s operating result for the year as a whole fell by almost a third to €56m. Here, acquisitions and divestments had a positive impact to the tune of €6m.

At the beginning of May 2020, Broadview Holding took over the British worktop dealer Direct Online Services. (DOS) which was able to boost its sales revenue to €54m in 2020 as a whole. The shareholding in the LNG distributor Molgas Energy Group was sold in July. In the preceding years, there had been significantly greater changes in the consolidated companies as a result of the majority share acquired in Westag & Getalit in August 2018 and the purchase of Formica at the beginning of June 2019.
