Schattdecor will also act as a free impregnator in future

14.01.2019 −

Following the expansion of impregnation capacities at several locations, the décor printer and surface manufacturer Schattdecor intends in future to operate worldwide as an independent impregnator. Previously, the company had supplied melamine films primarily as a supplement to its decor business. With its new strategy, Schattdecor intends to supply white and plain melamine films as well as technical films, in particular overlay and backing films for laminate flooring production, to a greater extent than before. In addition, the company can also impregnate customer-specific decor collections.

In the course of last year, Schattdecor commissioned four new impregnation channels at its locations in Rosate/Italy, Czechov/Russia and Wuhan/China. Five plants are now in operation in Rosate. In Tschechov, Schattdecor has installed a new channel in a newly constructed hall; the next step is to relocate the latest of the three impregnation channels from the Schatura plant to Tschechov. The impregnation joint venture Saintdecor in Wuhan, founded in March 2017, now operates two impregnation channels. In addition, the infrastructure at the three-channel impregnation site in São José dos Pinhais/Paraná, Brazil, has been optimized. Schattdecor operates two further plants in Tyumen, Russia. With the investments already completed and planned, Schattdecor will operate 15 impregnation channels worldwide in the future, according to Klaus Müller, head of sales for finished surfaces.
