Two Rivers Lumber investing $65m in new sawmill

The newly-founded US company Two Rivers Lumber is building a 200m bdft sawmill at its headquarters at a cost of around $65m; the construction work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2017 with the start-up to follow sometime in the third quarter. According to a report by Robert Bentley, the governor of Alabama, 55 new jobs are to be created in a first step at the works in Marengo County.

The contract for supplying a turnkey plant, on which southern yellow pine logs are to be processed into dimension stock in particular, was awarded to Canadian BID Group (BID Group).
