Reduction of roughly 4% in Finland’s lumber output

27.02.2013 −

Finland’s output of softwood lumber in the fourth quarter of 2012 also failed to match the reference figure of 2011 with an estimated 2.3m m³ after reductions had already been recorded in each of the preceding quarters. Industry representatives say cutting in December in particular remained well behind the otherwise usual figures. According to the latest figures published by the Finnish Forest Industries Federation, a total of some 9.3m m³ of softwood lumber was thus produced in Finland in the business year 2012, which equates to a reduction of roughly 4% against the previous year.
