Versowood’s sales revenue boosted by almost a third

Versowood Oy of Vierumäki generated consolidated sales revenue of €462.5m in its business year 2020/2021 (30 June), 31.4% more than in its previous business year. The return on sales was given as 11.1%, and the equity-to-assets ratio as 50.8%. In contrast to the previous years, the group opted against publishing its key performance figures. In its business year 2019/2020, Versowood had still achieved EBITDA of €12.3m and an EBITDA margin of 3.5%. The sawn-softwood output amounted to 1.392m m³ and roughly 3.8m m³ of roundwood was used.

In total, 44% of the sales revenue was generated on the Finnish market. Another 20% or so was accounted for by countries within Europe, 13% by the MENA region, 10% by Japan and Asia, and 5% by China. After Finland and Japan (8%), Germany was the third-biggest individual market with a 5% share of the sales revenue, on a par with China and France. Split into product groups, 47% of the sales revenue was accounted for by sawn softwood, 12% by gluelam, 10% by sawmill residues, and 9% by packaging.
