Sweden’s lumber output rose to roughly 18.1m m³

26.02.2016 −

At an estimated 18.1m m³, the Swedish national output of softwood lumber in 2015 was roughly 4.6% higher than the year before and thereby reached the highest level since 2007. The provisional figures published by the Swedish Forest Industries Federation (Skogsindustrierna) on 11 February are thus higher, too, than the forecast of 17.9m m³ given at the middle of the year. According to information from Mats Kinnwall, chief economist at Skogsindustrierna, 58% of the output was accounted for by spruce, and 42% by pine.
