Springer receives order from Pan Pac of New Zealand

08.03.2021 −

Springer is supplying a new earthquake-proof heavy-duty sawmill feed system to Pan Pac Forest Products for its sawmill in Whirinaki, Hawke’s Bay. The total cost of the investment is NZD13m, roughly equivalent to €7.8m. Springer will act as general contractor and work in collaboration with Lakeland Steel and Design Manufacture & Installation on location.

The new plant has been planned by Springer and Pan Pac since 2017 and replaces a feeder that has been in operation in the early 80s. The plant’s performance in unsorted mixed operation is geared to 15 cycles/ minute for roundwood in lengths of 3.4-6 m and stump diameters up to 90 cm. The sawmill processes roughly 1.1m m³ of radiata pine roundwood per year.
