Segezha planning to extend Siberian LDK 1 for RUB6.5bn

Segezha Group of Moscow, Russia, wants to invest RUB6.5bn (roughly equivalent to €74m) in extending the LDK 1 sawmill in Lesosibirsk, Siberia. This was declared by Segezha’s president and CEO Mikhail Shamolin on 22 June during a visit by the deputy prime minister Victoria Abramchenko to Lesosibirskij LDK 1.

Besides updating the production facilities, installation of a planing plant as well as construction of a new heating station and a second pellet works are planned as well. A decision on building a cross-laminated timber (CLT) works geared to an annual production capacity of 50,000 m³ is also to be taken by the end of this year.
