SBP-certified biomass raised to roughly 15m t in 2020

The volume of pellets and woodchips produced and sold in compliance with the criteria of the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) in 2020 was roughly 3 t or 25 % lower than a year earlier at 14.95m t. In turn, 13.35m t of this was accounted for by pellets (+22.5 %), and 1.60m t by woodchips (+52.4 %).

According to the SBP annual report published on 31 March 2021, the number of certified companies on 31 December 2020 was up at 314 (210). The overview shows that the companies are located in 31 (25) countries worldwide.
