Poland: prices for oak sawlogs rise significantly

In November, prices for all roundwood assortments sold via the e-drewno internet platform organized by the Polish State Forestry Administration Lasy Panstwowe increased vis à vis the preceding month. The price of oak logs rose most significantly, increasing by more than 50% to PLN1,498/m³ at forest road (equivalent to approximately €325/m³). Per April, oak had been quoted at around PLN610/m³, then increased to PLN982/m³ by October. For pine, beech, and birch logs, the price increases were in the single-digit percentage range.

In the case of spruce sawlogs, after reaching a peak of PLN651/m³ in September, prices settled at a somewhat lower level. Prices for industrial timber, on the other hand, increased at a double-digit rate. Pine sawlog prices almost trebled vis à vis the preceding year. Significant price increases were also recorded for the other roundwood assortments.
