Latvia: Roundwood exports down by 26

In the course of the first half of the year, Latvia exported a total of 1.449 million m³ of roundwood, which represents a decline of almost 26% compared to the previous year. Exports of coniferous roundwood were below average at -18 % to 474,500 m³, while exports of hardwood declined slightly above average at -29 % to 0.975m m³.

In percentage terms, the value of total roundwood exports declined even more sharply and, at around € 76.6 million, was 44% lower than in the same period of the previous year. The calculated value per unit fell by 25% to € 52.9 per m³. The average export value for exported coniferous woods was € 54.2 and for hardwoods € 52.3 per cubic meter.
