James Jones extending Aboyne at a cost of 5m £

British James Jones is investing 5m £ in a thorough modernisation of the Aboyne sawmilling facility in Aberdeenshire. This will partly involve upgrading the sawmilling line supplied by Söderhamn Eriksson as well as the resaw station, the control systems, and the inter-nal conveying equipment.

According to information from joint managing director Ian Pirie, the modernisation measures, scheduled for completion by the end of this year, will increase production capacity by approximately 30 %. James Jones has not yet announced the companies that the modernisation contracts have been awarded to.
The Aboyne sawmill produces kiln-dried car-cassing, fencing, and pallet boards sold mainly in Scotland.
