Finland: production still below level of preceding year

After recording -22.8% in the first and -8.0% in the second quarter, Finnish production of softwood lumber also remained below the preceding year’s figure in the third quarter. According to figures published on 30 October by the Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF) in the third quarter approximately 2.59m m³ softwood lumber was produced, representing a decline of 2.7%. In the first nine months, around 7.77m m³ softwood lumber was produced, corresponding to a decline of 11.4% and approximately 1m m³ compared to the preceding year.
