Euroconstruct forecasts construction growth of 2.7

The Euroconstruct construction research network forecasts a 2.7% year-on-year increase in construction output in the 19 European member countries for 2018; this was announced at the Euroconstruct conference held in Helsinki on 7 and 8 June. In 2017, construction output increased by 3.9 %. In 2019 (+1.9 %) and 2020 (+1.4 %) growth rates are expected to be even weaker than in the current year.

By country, Euroconstruct expects above-average growth of 10.4% in the four Eastern European countries in 2018. Construction output is expected to increase most strongly in Hungary (+24.6 %), followed by below-average growth rates in Poland (+9.9 %), the Czech Republic (+5.0 %) and Slovakia (+4.1 %).
