Duratex sells plantations to Fibria pulp group

Brazilian Duratex sold eucalyptus plantations in the federal state of São Paulo to the pulp group Fibria Celulose on 1 December. The total cost of the transaction settled through the Duratex subsidiary Duratex Florestal amounts to BRL74.8m. No details were disclosed about the size of the forest areas.

According to Duratex, 50% of the sale proceeds are to be posted in the fourth quarter of 2016 and the rest in the business year 2017. When the contract was signed, the obligations relating to log harvesting and transportation also passed to Fibria.
