Binderholz establishes holding company for US activities

12.07.2019 −

On 25 June, the Binderholz entered Binderholz US Holding GmbH in the Commercial Register. Holding and managing shareholdings in companies abroad is given as the purpose of the company. The newspaper “Tiroler Tageszeitung” quotes the managing director Natalie Binder as saying that the founding of the company is only to serve a broadening of Binderholz’ sales activities on this market. The company is aiming to generate sales revenue of around 60m € on the US timber market this year. A doubling of the revenue generated from sales in the USA is planned over the next three years. Binder did not give any information about possible shareholdings in or acquisitions of US companies.

Binderholz’ last company acquisitions were roughly two years ago. The cartel authorities in Germany and Austria had approved the takeover of Klenk Holz AG of Oberrot, Germany, by Binder Beteiligungs AG of Fügen, Austria, in October 2017. The planed-product and gluelam production at the Lieksa facility of the Finnish company Anaika Wood Ltd. Oy had already been acquired through the subsidiary Binder Nordic Oy of Joensuu, Finland, in February 2017.
