Moelven investing in Edanesågen and Soknabruket

Norwegian Moelven group recently placed an order with the Swedish Valutec Group for a two-zone progressive kiln for its Swedish Edanesågen sawmill. The system, designed with a drying capacity of 40,000 m³ per year, is scheduled to be installed in January 2016 and then commence production in May 2016. The facility’s lumber production capacity amounts to 120,000 m³ per year. 70% of this is accounted for by spruce and 30% by pine.

Moelven is also investing around NOK50m in the Norwegian Soknabruket sawmill until January 2016 to modernise the existing lumber sorting facilities. The updating measures, which are to be carried out from the beginning of December during roughly six weeks of downtime, will raise production capacity by approximately 40,000 m³ to 175,000 m³ of spruce and pine lumber.
