Springer acquires majority holding in FinScan

Austrian Springer group has acquired a 90% stake in Finnish FinScan. The remaining 10% of the shares remain in the hands of the company’s founder. The acquisition, handled by Springer Technologie, became effective on 22 February.

FinScan supplies scanners and software for automated analysis, quality-grading, and optimisation of timber and has 14 employees. FinScan’s products are distributed worldwide under the brand names of “Boardmaster”, “EndSpy”, and “MoistSpy”. The company says it currently operates roughly 400 facilities in 20 countries.
