The manufacturer of roller coatings SchäferRolls will build a second production plant in the USA via its US subsidiary SchaeferRolls Inc. Construction at the Covington/Virginia site is scheduled to begin towards the end of the current year, with commissioning scheduled for mid-2019. According to consistent media reports, the total volume of the investment amounts to US$ 12 million. With a total of 31 employees, the complete product range of roller covers is to be manufactured at the new location. In addition, repair, conversion and grinding work is offered to customers primarily in the Southern and Southeastern USA.
SchäferRolls currently produces roller coatings from polymer materials at its headquarters in Renningen/Germany and at its branches in Kranj/Slovenia and Farmington/New Hampshire with a total of around 250 employees. The company produces rubber roller covers for surface application systems for the wood and furniture industry. Possible areas of application are in the areas of lamination, lacquering and glue application and dosing. In addition, the covers can also be used for transport, deflection and counter rollers.
