NTG takes over Scottish Orchard Timber Products

National Timber Group (NTG) has continued its course of expansion by taking over the Scottish timber merchant Orchard Timber Products Limited (Orchard Timber). According to a release published by NTG on 16 November, this enables the group to extend its sales region to the northeast coast of Scotland and the county of West Lothian. Wooden flooring has also been added to NTG’s product range. With stocks of over 20,000 m², Orchard Timber the UK’s biggest supplier of wooden flooring from Kährs Holding. Besides wooden flooring and decking, the company also sells sawnwood, wood-based panels, doors, and kitchens to regional building companies and to carpenters geared to renovations.

Orchard Timber, which will continue to trade under the existing name, will be run by the previous owners Scott McKinlay, Kevin Golder, and Stuart Fraser jointly with Nick Ratcliffe, managing director of the Scottish NTG division in future. The company, which, in addition to the headquarters in Forfar, also operates a second storage facility in Livingston and a sales office in Aberdeen, will have generated roughly £27m in sales revenue with 90 employees in 2021.
NTG had taken over Hymor Timber in March through the owner’s succession planning.
