Martinsons planning to invest 120m SEK by autumn 2020

19.11.2019 −

Swedish Martinsons Group intends to invest around 120m SEK in its Bygdsiljum and Kroksjön facilities by autumn 2020. According to a release on 30 October, the biggest individual measure will be the construction of a new power plant boiler at the sawmill and gluelam works in Bygdsiljum. According to information from product manager Olov Martinson, the purpose of the new power plant boiler and a row of other measures is to provide the means for increasing the annual output of sawnwood to 580,000 m³. In the course of this, the output of gluelam products is to be stepped up at the facility as well. At the Bygdsiljum works, Martinsons currently has an output of roughly 46,000 m³ of gluelam timber and approximately 22,000 m³ of cross-laminated timber (CLT). The annual sawmilling capacity is around 450,000 m³.

The investment planned in Kroksjön involves the fabrication of timber-construction modules, the operations for which are to be further expanded. Besides a sawmill, the facility also comprises a planing works and a production plant for impregnated wood products and wooden bridges.
