In the second quarter, positive trend continued at Raute

15.08.2017 −

Finnish Raute again showed considerable increases in order receipts and turnover in the second quarter. Growth rates were only minimally less than in the first quarter. In contrast, the trend in results figures showed a turnaround. After Raute had doubled the operating result and the pre-tax and period results in the first quarter, the values reached were halved in the second quarter, thereby bringing a slight year-on-year decline.

According to the quarterly report published on 1 August, order receipts in the second quarter improved by 81% to €29m compared to the corresponding period in the preceding year. In contrast to the situation in preceding quarters, no major projects were completed, and the biggest individual orders were peeling lines for plywood producers in France and Italy.

However, Raute’s CEO Tapani Kiiski reported a continuing rise in project activities. Following a quieter phase, more enquiries for modernisation projects have been received since the second quarter. Maintenance work and spare-part deliveries are still at a high level, which Kiiski rates as a sign of good capacity utilisation in buyer branches.
