IFMAC machinery fair postponed by three weeks

10.06.2020 −

Indonesian trade fair organiser PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (Wakeni) and Deutsche Messe have postponed the wood processing machine fair International Furniture Manufacturing Component Exhibition (IFMAC), which they have been organising in collaboration since last year, from the original date on 23 to 29 September 2020 to 14 to 17 October. The intention behind postponing the event by three weeks is to give exhibitors and visitors an extended period for planning. The two trade fair companies, which since last year have been organising the IFMAC together on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed on 27 May, indicate lifting of the globally imposed protective measures to curb spreading of the corona virus as the reason for this decision. IFMAC has been held annually on the premises of Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran since 2012.

Despite Deutsche Messe being involved for the first time, at the last IFMAC held from 9 to 12 October 2019 visitor and exhibitor numbers declined vis à vis the preceding event, which had been relatively successful. According to the trade fair statistics of AUMA a total of 200 exhibitors took part over a net exhibition space of 3,843m². 41 of the exhibitors were from Indonesia and 159 (210) from abroad. The number of visitors, at 12,917 in total, was only just below the preceding year’s figure, 717 visitors came from abroad.
