Homag Group wants to open its own engineering office in Poznan, Poland. Work to build the office, which will do business as Homag Engineering Poland, started in the first quarter of 2018. The building will officially open in June. The new engineering office will be part of the Business Garden Poznan office complex and is located about 40 km away from the production facility now run by Homag Polska.
Longstanding Polish research and development (R&D) activities will be located in Poznan. In the past, this department had primarily worked on projects for specific customers. In future, global projects to develop new technologies are to be addressed together with other Homag Group R&D facilities. In this vein, a centre of expertise for robotics is to be built in Poznan. Moreover, virtual commissioning of machinery are to be developed and improved. Homag also wants to shorten the time needed for production lines to ramp up operations at end customers.
