Homag order inflow higher at start of year

05.06.2018 −

Homag Group received orders worth a total of €415.2m in the first quarter, according to the quarterly report published by parent company Dürr on 11 May. The figure for the reporting period exceeds the record figure of €400.9m in the previous quarter by 3.6%.

Pekka Paasivaara, CEO of Homag said, business saw growth especially in Northern and Eastern Europe. In Eastern Europe, a major contribution was made in March by the order from Polish Fabryki Mebli Forte for a full-fledged production plant for prefab furniture. With a total value of around €60m, this is the largest single order in Homag’s company history.

Sales revenue yielded slightly compared with the same period last year to €294.6m. According to Mr Paasivaara, the slight weakness was mainly due to the introduction of the SAP system at the company headquarters in Schopfloch, because of which the company could only deliver fewer plants in the first quarter. In der Homag’s EBIT also receded by 2.8% to €19.7m while the computed margin amounted to 6.7%.
