Eurobaustoff achieves last year’s turnover at early stage

10.01.2020 −

Eurobaustoff achieved its centrally invoiced purchasing turnover of 2018 - at €6.450bn - on 10 December 2019; in 2018 this mark had been achieved by the end of November. In view of the fact that ten working days are still outstanding, the chairman of the management board, Dr. Eckard Kern, considers his sales forecast of +2-3% for 2019, which he had announced when presenting the 2018 financial figures in January, confirmed. Eurobaustoff currently comprises 463 member companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Lichtenstein, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Czech Republic and Sweden with a total of 1,672 locations.

Over the course of the year so far business has developed along inconsistent lines. Following a 5.7% turnover increase in 2018, this development further intensified in the first quarter with an improvement in centrally invoiced purchasing turnover of 11.2%. Weather conditions which were favourable for the construction sector led to a lively level of demand in the first three months. By the middle of the year the rate of increase fell to 4.7%, which Kern attributes to factors such as public holidays in June as well as the heatwave in the second half of June.
