11.02.2019 −

The Saxony State Directorate has approved the construction of a terminal for combined transport (CT) in Kodersdorf/Saxony. With the planning approval now available, LION Spezialtransport has been granted building rights. The terminal for transferring containers from road to rail will be built on a 6.1 ha site in the Sandberg industrial estate. The terminal comprises two storage tracks, two loading tracks and a locomotive bypass track. In addition, the construction of an internal road, a container handling area, a washing area for container stackers and parking areas is planned.

The connection to the railway network will be made via the northbound operating track of Holzindustrie Schweighofer. According to the announcement published by the Saxony State Directorate on 5 February, Schweighofer will also be one of the largest users of the terminal once it is operational.
