A total of 25 continuous dryers sold by Valutec in 2017

15.01.2018 −

Including the orders placed by Austrian Hasslacher Norica Timber and German Robeta-Holz in the fourth quarter of 2017, Swedish Valutec Group sold a total of 25 continuous dryers to European customers in 2017. The company puts the total drying capacity of these systems at over 1.5m m³ p.a.; this equates to an average annual capacity of around 70,000 m³.

Valutec’s managing director, Robert Larsson, believes continuous drying technology, though still not widely deployed in central Europe, has meanwhile accomplished the breakthrough. One of the main driving forces behind this has been the growing demand for kiln-dried board assortments, which are processed downstream into products such as gluelam timber and cross-laminated timber.
