GD Holz plans another in-person foreign trade day

After a three-year break, the export trade specialist department within GD Holz plans to hold an export trade day again next year in Bremen. The date has been set for 7 April. At the beginning of October, the board of the department - newly elected in mid-April - voted in favour of holding a purely in-person event, which is to be divided into meetings of the individual specialist departments and subsequent round-table discussions. Following the merger of the two departments Import Brokers & Agents and Import Planing Mills in spring, there are now three additional specialist departments; the other two are Import Plywood and Overseas Timber. The evening importers’ dinner is again planned to be held at the chamber of commerce in Bremen.

Due to the corona situation, which - for a considerable period already - has been becoming increasingly critical again, the department has had to examine possible alternatives in the meantime. However, a hybrid event combining an in-person event with a digital participation option is difficult to realise in the planned concept with parallel components. A possible solution may be to hold the event under so-called 2G+ conditions. The board of the department will deal with the topic at its next meeting.
