CIFF Shanghai to be converted to online format

The China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) in Shanghai, originally planned as a regular fair, will now be held as an exclusively online event. Following two postponements, the final scheduled date from 11 to 14 December will be retained. By changing the format, according to a statement of 27 November; organisers China Foreign Trade Centre Group and Shanghai Zhongmao Macalline Economic and Trade Development are responding to the Chinese authorities’ renewed tightening of pandemic control measures. In addition to the quarantine regulations already in place for some time, these measures also include a further reduction in cross-border flight connections to and from China.

CIFF Shanghai, originally scheduled for 3 to 6 September, was first rescheduled in August to 25 to 28 September. The explanation given for the new date was also precautionary measures to contain the pandemic. The last time the fair was held as a physical event was from 6 to 10 September 2020 at the National Exhibition Convention Center in Shanghai. At that time, around 1,000 companies exhibited on an area of 250,000 m². A total of 118,409 visitors were registered.
