Building-materials chain Sjakk taken over by Stark

In mid-November, Danish Stark Group signed a sale agreement for Sjakk, which is active in Jutland, through Stark Danmark. The transaction is scheduled for completion upon receipt of the required approvals by the end of this year. The company, which had emerged from the former Juelsminde group in 2017, has a total of approximately 80 employees at the four facilities in Hedensted, Give, Egtved, and Ejstrupholm.

Stark Group has completed several major acquisitions over the last few months, which are expected to roughly double the consolidated sales revenue. The biggest individual transaction, completed on 30 September, was the acquisition of the German builders’ merchant division of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, which trades under the name of Saint-Gobain Building Distribution Deutschland (SGBDD) of Offenbach.
