Production standstill at Alno plants since mid-September

18.09.2017 −

The preliminary insolvency administrator appointed in the insolvency proceedings for the four companies of Alno – Prof. Dr. Martin Hörmann – temporarily discontinued production at the three production locations of Pfullendorf, Enger and Coswig in mid-September. This step was taken after failing to achieve agreement in negotiations with the most important customers and suppliers concerning financing of business operations. According to a statement published on 15 September, Hörmann intends now to focus on bringing the struc-tured bidder process instigated in August to a conclusion.

Production at the three plants is not to be resumed until a new investor or new investors for the Alno assets have been found. Correspondingly, with immediate effect no new orders are being accepted at Alno or at the subsidiaries Gustav Wellmann and Pino Küchen. Individual solutions are to be found to deal with the problem of missing parts which has ensued over the course of recent months. The insolvency administration is carrying out further discussions in this regard with interested customers, according to company information.

In the statement Hörmann expresses regret about production now being discontinued because, as a consequence, restructuring and a possible new start have been made significantly more difficult.
