Production launched in the two new Nobilia plants

08.03.2021 −

At the end of 2020 Nobilia commenced operations at the two plants - each of which was constructed over the course of the last two years - in Gütersloh-Spexard (plant III) and Saarlouis (plant V). Despite a short period of restrictions caused by the corona crisis, it was thus fundamentally possible to adhere to the original schedule. When construction commenced in Spexard Nobilia had planned to launch operations at the plant by mid 2020. In Saarlouis the target for completion had been set for the fourth quarter of 2020. Recruitment of personnel for the new plant in the Saarland was the main reason for the increase in Nobilia’s overall workforce to 3,945 as of the end of 2020.

With these two major projects, Nobilia invested a total of some €134m last year. The investment sums of the two previous years, therefore, were again slightly exceeded. In 2018, Nobilia had invested a total of €128.0m and subsequently, in 2019, a total of €131.5m. In addition to the investments in machinery and equipment, Nobilia also acquired 27 new tractors and 80 new trailers last year. This means that Nobilia meanwhile has a total of 220 tractors and more than 860 trailers at its disposal.
