Orgatec has registered around 15 % more trade visitors

This year's Orgatec office furniture trade fair, held in Cologne from 23 to 27 October, attracted around 63,000 trade visitors, including estimates for the last day of the fair. This is the conclusion of the final report published by the organiser Koelnmesse on the last day of the fair. Compared to the previous event in 2016, this represents an increase of 15 %. The number of countries represented on the visitor side also rose by 24 to 142. The proportion of trade visitors from Eastern Europe almost doubled. The number of visitors from India (+44 %), North America (+42 %), Central and South America (+42 %), the EU countries (+32 %) and Japan (+22 %) also improved considerably.

The number of exhibitors rose by 13.4 % to 753 companies. The proportion of foreign exhibitors increased by two percentage points to 75 %, with 566 international companies taking part. In total, exhibitors from 39 countries were represented.
This year, Orgatec was held for the first time together with the congress fairs "architectureworld" and "Deutscher Hoteltag", thus adding construction and architecture to the range of products on show. Koelnmesse had justified the bundling of trade fairs at the end of April with the need to involve architects at an early stage in the planning of office and hotel buildings and thus promote cooperation between those involved in planning and construction.
