In the 2020 financial year, MHK Group generated gross turnover of €7.657bn. This represents an increase of 15.3% vis à vis the preceding year. Thus, the significant growth already recorded in previous years has accelerated once again. In both 2015 and 2016, turnover had increased by 12.1%; in 2019, the growth rate amounted to 10.5%. In 2017 (+9.8%) and 2018 (+8.3%), the increase rates were high in the single-digit percentage range. Based on the total turnover figure of €4.509bn recorded in 2015, the value has risen by almost 70% within the past five years.
Growth was over-proportionally strong on the German market last year, with an increase of 18.3% to €5.132bn. Activities of the foreign member companies in Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Spain increased by 9.6% to €2.525bn. Thus, for the first time since 2014, the increase in domestic business was higher than that recorded in business abroad - for which growth rates in the double-digit percentage range have been achieved consistently since 2015. The strongest increases abroad were recorded in 2015 (+15.9%) and 2017 (+15.6%). In 2016, the rate of increase amounted to 13.9%. For 2018 and 2019, respective growth rates of 11.5% and 11.8% were achieved.
