Koelnmesse removes two halls from IMM plans

The renewed intensification of the corona crisis is also leading to restrictions at the IMM Cologne furniture fair, planned for 17 to 23 January. As with all currently planned events, Koelnmesse had granted exhibitors the right to withdraw at no cost up to three months before the start of the trade fair. In the case of IMM Cologne, this deadline expired on 17 October; since then, the usual cancellation conditions have applied. As early as September, various companies that had previously booked a stand decided against participating. Further cancellations followed in the first half of October. These short-notice cancellations came mainly from other European countries, for example from Italy.

Following the withdrawal of some of the previously booked exhibitors, which affected the three areas pure, home and connect to a similar extent, Koelnmesse has adjusted the layout of the halls over the course of the last few weeks. Halls 8 and 11.3 have been removed from the plans, meaning the gross exhibition area will be reduced again to around 140,000 m². The exhibitors previously assigned to hall 8 have been distributed between halls 6 and 7, which are also located in the northern part of the exhibition grounds. Bookings for hall 11.3 will be reassigned to halls 11.1 and 11.2. With these changes in hall allocation, the north entrance will remain closed at the upcoming IMM Cologne. Instead, an entrance will be created at hall 9 in addition to the south and east entrances.
The so-called 3G regulation will apply as planned for IMM Cologne. Koelnmesse will establish a test centre for this purpose on the exhibition grounds.
