Incoming orders in kitchen industry rise in first 7 months

18.10.2019 −

In July incoming orders of the German kitchen furniture industry increased significantly. The exact change in percentage terms, however, was not specified in the order statistics of the federation of the German wood and furniture industry published in the business report of the federation of the German furniture industry (VDM). The federation of the German kitchen furniture industry (VdDK) attributes the increase to the shift in company holidays of kitchen furniture manufacturers in North Rhine-Westphalia from July to August due to the school holidays. Accumulated over the first seven months, incoming orders of German kitchen furniture manufacturers were 2.3% above last year’s figure. In this connection, the increase in export business was higher - at 3.6% - than the rise in domestic business at 1.5%.
