Double-digit decline in Polish kitchen furniture production

Polish production of kitchen furniture made of wood decreased by 16% in the fourth quarter of 2017 to 1.097m units. According to the Polish statistics authority GUS, the decrease recorded in the third quarter was even more significant at 29%. A 10% decline in Polish kitchen furniture production had already been recorded in the second quarter. Only in the first quarter was an increase of 16% re-corded. A decrease of 12% to 4.190m units consequently ensues for the entire year.

Production of dining room and living room furniture made of wood, in contrast, increased by 19% to 31.086m units. At an increase of 28% to 9.868m units, the increase recorded in the fourth quarter was most significant. Double-digit increase rates were also recorded, however, in the first (+20%), second (+16%) and third (+10%) quarters.
