ScS turnover increases by 13.9% in first half year

In the first 26 weeks since the beginning of the 2020/2021 financial year on 26 July, gross turnover of British upholstered furniture and flooring trader ScS Group increased by 13.9% to £182.3m compared to the preceding year. According to a trading update from 27 January, the increase is attributable to the growth in incoming orders recorded in June and July following the first lockdown, as well as positive development during the first quarter of the current financial year.

Due to the 65.2% slump in like-for-like incoming orders recorded during the period from 20 December to 23 January, an overall decline of 9.1% ensues for the first half of the year. Orders in hand as per the reporting date of 23 January amounted to £90.5m, exceeding the level of the preceding year by £16.8m. ScS intends to publish final half-year figures on 16 March.
