Dutch furniture imports still slightly above prior-year figure

Following increases of 25% in the first quarter and 19% in the second, the value of Dutch furniture imports rose by a more modest 2% to €1.744bn in the third quarter. Whilst imports from China declined by 4% to €496.5m and deliveries from Germany stagnated at the level of the preceding year at €344.7m, figures published by Eurostat still showed increases in the case of imports from Poland, Belgium (+13% to €162.5m) and Italy (+27% to €53.1m). Accumulated over the first nine months, the total value of imports rose by 15% to €5.789bn.

Regarding Dutch furniture exports, an increase of 9% to €3.220bn ensues per end of September.
