Velux parent company VKR again records growth

In 2020, VKR Holding generated turnover to the amount of DKK22.610bn and thus exceeded the preceding year’s figure by 4.9%. The group of companies more than offset the corona-related 0.7% decline in the first half year with a 10.2% increase in the second half year. In terms of results, the company was able to record increases for the second consecutive time. The EBITA increased by 39.7% to DKK4.199bn, the EBITA margin thus rose to 18.6%. Net profit was up by 20.4% to DKK3.703bn.

A significant contribution to the improved group results figures was made by roof window manufacturer Velux. Demand in the private customer segment in particular developed along positive lines. Business with daylight solutions for commercial buildings, which is operated under Velux Commercial, in contrast, remained below expectations after various projects were postponed or cancelled last year. Velux, Velux Commercial as well as online trading company Altaterra form VKR’s roof windows & skylights business division. On 22 January, VKR Holding announced the takeover of Dutch online trader Dakoplast (Dakvenster.com) via Altaterra. The purchase was concluded on 11 March.
In VKR’s second business division vertical windows, in which activities of the Dovista Group are consolidated, expected turnover could not be achieved due to the corona crisis and uncertainties in connection with Brexit. Results, in contrast, were in line with the forecast.
