Tarkett: Turnover down slightly in EMEA region

French Tarkett was confronted by a slight decline in turnover of 0.8% to €225.2m in its EMEA business division in the third quarter. In organic terms, the company was still able to record growth of 0.9% in this economic region which, in addition to the core European markets, also includes the markets in the Middle East and Africa. According to the company, it had to cope with unfavourable market developments especially in France, Great Britain and Turkey. The company records a positive trend, in contrast, for Germany, southern Europe and Poland. Particularly significant is the good development of luxury vinyl tiles (LVT).

There were even more significant changes in the other three business divisions. The sports segment was the strongest business division in terms of turnover at an increase of 10.4% to €243.3m. Organic growth here amounted to as much as 11.8%. In the North America business division Tarkett generated turnover of €206.0m; this corresponds to an increase of 4.1% and an increase of 4.3% in organic terms. Turnover in the CIS, APAC, Latin America business division declined by 7.1% to €165.4m. In organic terms the group recorded a -4.8% decrease in this region. Tarkett attributes the decline in this segment primarily to the weak business development in Russia, whereas in China and Latin America turnover increases were recorded.
