Tarkett achieves slightly improved adjusted EBITDA

04.12.2020 −

In the third quarter, Tarkett generated turnover to the amount of €776.9m. According to the company, all business divisions contributed to the turnover decline of 14.4% vis à vis the comparative period of the preceding year. Organic turnover, adjusted to account for factors such as exchange rate effects, also declined at a double-digit percentage rate (-10.5%).

The sports division, which includes business with sport flooring, recorded a decline of 21% to €223.2m due to projects being suspended, postponed or cancelled. In the North America division - which according to Tarkett is mainly focused on the commercial sector which was more severely affected by the corona crisis - turnover also declined in the double-digit percentage range (-19.9% to €184.4m). Turnover in the EMEA sales region (-4.9% to €212.6m) fell short of the preceding year’s figure to a less pronounced extent. Although the CIS, APAC & LATAM division also recorded a decline in turnover (-8.4% to €156.6m), according to Tarkett this was largely due to an unfavourable development in exchange rates caused by devaluation of the Russian rouble and the Brazilian real. Adjusted to account for currency, turnover of the business division increased by 1.9% compared to the third quarter of 2019.
