Parquet producer Berg & Berg files for bankruptcy

17.01.2020 −

The three-layer parquet manufacturer Berg & Berg to Swedish Mor-Gerd filed for bankruptcy on 11 December. The court of jurisdiction appointed Erik M. Gabrielsson as administrator. Berg & Berg currently has 72 employees in production and administration.

The petition for bankruptcy was preceded by lengthy and extensive negotiations between the sole partner and the owner of the operational property, the municipality of Ronneby, but they were unable to be brought to a conclusion.

Business has continued as normal since the petition. Talks were conducted with investors immediately after the petition and it now looks as if Berg & Berg is going to be taken over by a group comprising the existing management team and sales partners in the frame of a management buy-in (MBI). A decision is expected soon. The negotiations conducted to date also cover Berg & Berg’s hardwood sawmill in Eringsboda.
