Masonite to build new production location in Fort Mill

Masonite International intends to expand its production capacity with a new location in Fort Mill, South Carolina. For the new plant, the company will use existing buildings in the Steel Point Drive industrial estate, with a total area of approximately 35,000 m². The machinery is to be installed by the end of the year. According to the investment decision announced on 24 June, commissioning is planned for early 2022. The new location will create around 220 jobs, according to Masonite. Doors for the residential building sector are to be manufactured in Fort Mill. The location was chosen against the backdrop of high demand in the region and the good logistical connections.

Masonite recently expanded the capacities of its North America residential division through the acquisition of a door plant in Janesville, Wisconsin from Lowe’s. This acquisition was concluded in the fourth quarter of 2020.
