Intermediate Capital to sell Gerflor to Cobepa

Gerflor is to be taken over by Belgian private equity company Cobepa. The investor, which was formed via a divestment from BNP Paribas in 2004, and former owner Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) have agreed on the fundamental conditions of the transaction. The takeover was submitted for approval to the Directorate General for Competition of the EU Commission on 16 January. The antitrust investigation under file no. M.9718 is expected to be concluded by 20 February.

In the 2018 financial year Gerflor increased its turnover to €939m. The proportion of exports included in this figure rose to 70%. The company, which is managed by CEO Bertrand Chammas, operates 17 plants world-wide and has a workforce of 4,200.
