Amorim introduces new governance model in May

Corticeira Amorim expanded its executive committee by one member and its board of directors by four members. The shareholders approved the new corporate governance model at the general meeting on 23 April. On 3 May, the board of directors subsequently appointed CFO Cristina Amorim as a new member of the executive committee. Previously, this body had been comprised of the three members António Amorim (chairman), Nuno Barroca and Fernando Almeida. The board of directors increased the number of its own members from previously six to now ten. The newly appointed board members are independent members who do not come from within the company.

In addition, several new bodies were formed, namely the risk committee, the appointment, evaluation and remuneration committee, the environmental, social and governance committee as well as the audit committee.
