Amorim floor & wall turnover increases again slightly

In the first nine months, the floor & wall coverings business unit of Portuguese cork group Corticeira Amorim generated turnover of €86.2m. With the increase of 4% vis à vis the comparative period of the preceding year, this business division developed along stronger lines than the company as a whole (-5.2% to €571.4m).

In the other four business units, by contrast, turnover fell short of the preceding year’s figures. In each case the declines were sharper than in the first half of the year. Turnover generated in the cork stoppers business unit decreased by 5.6% to €407.9m. Sharper declines were recorded for the composite cork business unit (-7.8% to €72.6m) and the raw materials business unit (-10.9% to €138.2m), the latter of which is primarily geared towards supplying the other business units with raw materials. The insulation cork business unit (-15.6% to €8.8m) once again developed most poorly.
